geerbangr Im running a 1983 gpz1100 1262 wiseco big bore ported polished welded and balanced crank, 36mm mikuni flat slides. No cams yet and havent undercut tranny or done an aftermarket clutch YET. Its a project so these things take time probably doesnt run as strong as yours but I did shave off 50 plus pounds with other mods. I bet you really surprise the hell out of ever ricky roadracer who thinks your just out for a sunday ride on your 80s cruiser.Nice toy you got there!TOM

ive run several,i always thought a bigbore was 1100 plus though! :P when i was groing up i was always taught if ya cant do it on the motor build a bigger motor which is fine to a point but sooner or later it becomes impracticle to run a big inch high compression motor with carbs on a streetbike(yeah,i know!me practicle?:woohoo: )

z1 bottem end,1197 topend.

z1 bottend,1327 j-head.....

I ran a 1440 but it kept overheating and warping the head. Dual Plugs, zx6 suspension. The works! It's still sitting after two years. I'll get around to fixing it soon.

Maybe I just need to move to a warmer climate?

ever think about running 2 oil coolers? (you must have had one on it before) you might try to run one up front as usual, and hide the other one under the seat, or tail and put a rad fan on it from a newer liquid cooled bike, just for good measure put a couple fans by the coils blowing on the head....

I know I dont really fit the "big bore" description, but I think my little bike will be pretty fast when its done:evil: faster than a stock motored 1000 anyway (I think I can take one with a good pipe and jet kit even:evil: ) when its done and properly tuned, if anyone wants to race, bring it on (all for fun of course)

I like to watch the sport crowd when i have the old girl on the back tire dancin !!! Anyone can get on a sport bike and make it do wheelies and go fast, that's what their designed for. It takes a man to saddle up an old kz make that fkr dance like a sport bike and have the balls to hang on to outrun the sportbike .

75 Z1B built it when I was 19 slapped 1015 kz jugs on it and megacycle cams of a spec that I dont recall other than they were advertised as the "hotest" cam for non big block bikes(does anyone have specs?). 29 smoothbores and open kerker electronic ign ect. Shes apart now going 1105 10.25:1 Wiseco's, fuel injection off of 03 gsxr600 and running a t3 50 trim turbo set up to run on E85. The chassis consists of stock frame with a brace kit 03 GSXR 1000 swing arm, shock and wheel. On the front end hangs a set of 99 Busa forks and wheel Tl 1000 top triple and clip ons. Way to many other mods in the works.

Peace&Love;) , Darren
