Hello all
My name is Otto Kudrna, and I bought my first KZ 1000D Z-1R when I was ninteen in 1978. Since than I have added KZs to my stable in the following order 1979 KZ1300, two more 1978 Z-1Rs, 1974 Z-1, 1976 KZ-900, 1977 KZ1000A, and last but not least 1981 KZ1000CSR. I still own all of these bikes and do not plan on getting rid of them enny time soon. At the moment I am restoring my KZ1300 and doing some internal mods, with custom ground camms and a 1400 high compression kit. Hope to post some pictures of my bikes soon

Welcome, and yes, give us some pix.
Seems like your collection is lacking in 250s, 400/440s, 550s, 650s, and 750s.

Hello rstnick
I know, I consider my 76 900 as my minnibike
I ride it to work every day because it gives me the best gas milage of all my bikes. It is vertually stock with the exception of the Kerker header. I put 80 Miles a day on it as long as the temperature is more than 36* and it is not raining too hard. There is a good streatch of highway on the way where I usually open it up to about 110mph for a decent distance of about 5 miles. There is very little traffic and an absence of the boys in blue. I just changed the chain and sprockets on the bike today, and went down to 33 teeth on the rear to get a better top end and better milage. Tomorrow I will wash it and take some pictures to post of the 900.

Yo OTTO!
Welcome! Now show your stuff!
19-1978 makes you 46-47? Have about 6 years on you.
In 78 I was living on a tropical island in the South Pacific with an exiled Burmese princess. No time for a motorbike then
Sounds like you have a nice commute. Where is your home and work? (Maybe add to 'signature' file). If you do not want to say, some hint as to how many days a year you have that are over 36 degree (Farenheit I presume). Living in the city I ride the small bikes most often. Easy to park and no room to get up much speed.

Hi Duck
I was also on a south seas island when i bought my Z1-R and My KZ-1300 I was stationed at MCAS Kaneohe (F4-Js)and YES you guessed my age. I got to Hawaii in 78 and was there till 81, Lots of GOOD riding. Now I live in the Chicago area and start riding in mid to late April and ridr threw Thanks Giving. Here is a picture of my every day ride. As I said, I put on 80Mi a day 6 days a week. I have already gone over 8000 this year and completely eaten up a Tsubaky chain and 2 sprockets in that time. Not to mention a rear tyre which I put on in May (no burn outs Believe it or not)

Nice bike!
You can only put one picture in the post if you use the "select Image file to attach" box below.
To have more than one pic in a post, you need to have the pics posted on another site, like Photobucket or similar, and then use the addresses for each pic, using the "Img" box above (one Img before the address and one Img* after).
