Kawasaki Z 750 four

Hello KZ riders! I just bought a 1977 Kawasaki Z 750 four.Has anyone heard of this bike? It is a Japanese model,This bike was bought new by a fellow in U.S. navy stationed in Japan and shipped back here in 1978.It needs restored and i need pics of one any advice on where i can get a pic.

In north Amuerica it was called the KZ750. Elsewhere it was called the Z750. Same bike different label. I did think however that the 4 cylinder was not introduced until 1980.

Thanks for the info!The bike is a inline 4cyl it looks just like kz 900! it is pretty cool all the warning labels are in japanese writing.

That Japanese writing makes yours a very rare bike in the US. You can be sure yours was made in Japan. I have three KZ750 4 cylinder bikes, and two were made in Lincoln, Nebraska, and one (the earliest model) was make in Japan.

Welcome aboard mxned. I am guessing from your screen name here you live close to me. I saw a fellow in Cleveland had one of these for sale on Ebay awhile back and I'm guessing you must be the lucky new owner. Just to clear things up for the rest of the crew here this bike is not a 750 based on the KZ 650 engine it is a 750 based on the 900 engine. This means that it has a roller bearing crank as opposed to the plain bearing cranks used in the 650's and later the 750's. That is indeed a rare find here in the states. I would love to get a look sometime, that is if you are indeed from Massilon.

Welcome aboard Ned...you, indeed, have a rare bike. These early (1973-77) 750/4's were never officially imported into North America but a few were privately shipped over here. When you search for parts or order parts, your bike is a termed a Z2 and many parts off the Z1/KZ900 will interchange....we need pictures!!!:lol:

Sorry, didn't answer your question(s). Let me do some digging for a photo...if I recall correctly, the paint schemes were similar to the Z1 line but they did diverge around the year of your bike. As for a shop manual, the Z1 manual will work but for some of the material, little is available in English. There are at least two members of this forum who own Z2's...one in Houston, Tx, and the other in Las Vegas, NV. Neither have been active in quite some time.
