Wow! our last get together was June 2003 (11 months ago!) Here are a few pics of our last meeting to refresh our memories

Starting to pack up the truck tonight so I'm not doing it at last minute. Here is list of guys coming to help wrench and hang out:

Uncle Dave is not likely. He is going to the Michigan blessing of the bikes this weekend. I told him his is welcome for any day even if it’s just a quick pop in.

My wife Deb is making  sloppy Joes for us for Saturday night. 
We will be working in the underground  garage workshop like last time.

We did have a good time as usual,      BUT   completing a task,,,,,,Not so much
You ever have  one of those projects that makes you crazy ?    Well hang on ............
Starts a year ago when Jim  ( Wheelhop ) wanted to create a  nice Z 1  from parts  and we got together  and  built the lower end of a motor at our get together.
Even though we had busted off bolt issues with his cases  we powered thru.
Then life happens  .
My wife had a couple health issues  from injuries to surgerys  so delay # 1  twice.
Matt  Mikaw had  health issues at  the time of the rescheduled  meet  but is now doing  good  .  ( Clock is ticking on motor )
Jim   found a deal on some different cases with a serial number  which compliments the frame  numbers  so a switch of parts into the matching cases  was to happen this  weekend 
Jim and I  kicked off the weekend by  opening up the cases to remove the guts for the swap.
Matt  arrived and we looked over the new cases  and  of course the fireworks began  ...Matt noticed the  main  cylinder stud holes in the block needed repair.
Off to find helicoils and  a machine to do the work.   So we think all is now fixed with the new threads..
Put the guts in the new cases and   hung the yoshi pistons  and started installing the studs.  Screeching  stop as studs wont go in far enough  UGHHHHHHHHH
Skipping ahead   Matt reaches a shop  who is willing to help out.   So we closed out Sunday by cleaning and storing all the parts and prepping the cases for repair
 3 steps forward   4 steps back   but we did have a great time wrenching . We can now do a motor with our eyes closed  like when we were young and did it all the time.
Spirits are high. We  lost the battle but will win the war
