I can't imagine ever actually putting up the money given what they cost, but I've often wondered what it would take to import one.

Could I just send them my frame to modify?  Their frame mods are beautiful.

Could I buy a big box of all the cool parts and put it together myself? 

Maybe they'd sell me one without the engine?  That would save some money, right??

84' GPz750 (basket case). everything are in pieces.

just about everything you need is on webike, I did a fantasy shopping basket once at 22,000 euro, i can’t see them making actual profit on the bikes, they are a sum of their parts, the original cost of the bike and paintwork, works of art is what they are.

Easy enough to build something just as good and it doesn't have to cost a fortune if you can do alot of work yourself.
Yamaha XJR running gear ( especially the swingarms) , Ohlins shocks, and a nice 4-1 will give the same look.
Got two builds going on myself which will make that Sanctuary look mundane and i'll have less than 5k in each one..

Totally agree, all those bikes are just show cases for super expensive after market parts, most of those parts are fancy versions of what you can modify your self but off the shelf and ready to bolt on with a cool logo then sold on a brand like Sanctuary. Still i love them for the beauty of them and will be waiting with baited breath for your bikes Zed.

Tasteful and restrained, but I still can't get past modern 17" wheels on a Z. The proportions don't work for me.

This is not including Ohlins front forks at 4,500 and rear magnesium wheel at 3,400 and probably about another 5 grand in bits and pieces..

I couldn't agree more kzstreetfighter71, I also believe that in the main these are marketing tools. The quality and workmanship is of the highest standard but as you say £25k plus in parts plus labour (200 hours at £100 plus tax is another £24k) you can see where the $50k price tag comes from. I suspect their customer base consists of the "uber wealthy" (the kind of people that spend $100k on a watch that still only tells the time) or the fanatical enthusiast the saves for years to buy one but is too scared to ride it other than a 30mph pootle to a bike event a couple of times a year. I would rather spend £5k as Zed said to build a bike that I will happily ride to the limit of my ability and if it breaks - "fix it"
As an "aside" several of their bikes that I have seen have a typically Japanese excess of multi-coloured bling that wouldn't look out of place in a pole dancers jewellery box (I get that taste is subjective and we all like different things, just not for me)
