Don't own a car, but this is the wifes. Doesn't really count though cause it's a '93 SPI - the injection is a pain in the a***, even less room to move in the engine bay. Would love to get an old HQ Holden but there aren't many available in Europe ;)

Hi Calum, Old Holden prices have gone through the roof here and good HQ's are very hard to find and stupid expensive. My son and I have three old Holdens, I have a 1965 HD Holden Ute, and my son has a 1964 EH wagon and a 1963 EJ ute. My HD was a barn find 2 years ago, Its straight but the floors are gone, I paid $1200 for it , which was ok money for it at the time, I haven't touched it yet and have been offered 10 Grand for it !!  Madness....

My Ute as I found it out in western Queensland

The old man used to have a couple of Kingswoods and a Belmont when I was learning to drive. His old man always had an early 70's Statesman. I remember filling up the Belmont soon after getting my license and spending ages searching for the filler cap. No mobiles back then but a passer by helped me out :)
They used to race 202's in Christchurch and I always wanted to get on the track. Moved away before I got the chance.
Let us know if you see a decent V8 or 202 Kingswood or the like for a sensible price in Queensland. I'll get my sister to pick it up.

Hi Calum, I'm sorry to say that at the moment, there's no such thing as a sensible price, and if there was, it would last about 2 minutes after being put up for sale. I have a friend that has about 7 or 8 HR holdens, 5 VL turbo's a couple of EH's and a heap of parts and even he's stopped buying cars. We thought people would be selling projects everywhere when Covid took off , but the exact opposite happened , prices have doubled or more.
On another note, I know a guy that has a shed full of HQ 350 statesman's, they were quite rare, he's managed to find about 10 of them at last count, none for sale either...

Shame... maybe if we just roll one out the back of the shed he won't notice ;)
