Today my foundation guy did the following:
Cut out the gas curb to make one continous floor with pre existing . He leveled the substrate, put plastic down and then steel mesh. Tomorrow is the floor pour!

Here is the exterior with the shingles on roof.
Also used some of the left over soil spoils to level a low spot in the yard.

This shed was in the location where the addition is going in. Did not want to give up the storage space of this 10' x 10' shed. Moved it out into my yard.

Hey Jack, how about Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
BTW, have gone around Lake Michigan with Lawrence. It was quite an adventure!

I saw that big pile of siding, you should have plenty to do your project, great color match on the shingles too.
You should be wrapped up in no time. then the fun starts!

Yup, re using as much siding as possible. More siding needed, believe it or not! Carpenter is going to finish when he comes back for the soffit, gutter, drop down ladder etc.. He has ordered more siding. It will go where the color match is least noticeable.... hopefully. Foundation guy did put in rebar as well as mesh for the floor. Building inspector did his thing and approved the main floor area but forgot to have a concrete pad put in for the side door. Village requires a proportionate concrete pad consisting of 4-6" of stone with 4" of concrete. This for just a 36" X 36" door pad. Foundation may not get poured until next week. I am asking for this week. I want to coat the new and existing garage floor before moving everything in. The concrete needs to cure for 30 days according to the coating guy. I sure hope I can get my equipment and bikes in before the snow flies! :pinch:

Picked up my back ordered window today Got a lock set for my door. AND, bought one of those electric reel outlets that I will position over the bike lift area. The electrician will be out to mark up the rough-in for the outlets, lighting and such on Monday a.m.. Once the electrical lines and outlets are in place on Tuesday I will have the building inspector do his thing. After that, the carpenter is back to put on old and new siding back along with installing the door and window. One day at a time and sometimes two, three days or even a week before anything else happens!

Almost dried-in, that's great, your carpenter may need to dodge some rain this week.
If your electrician can ruff the outside light and outlet by the side door your carps can get rolling.
We're wrapping up installing new gutters on our place today, I'll be glad when that's over.
Tomorrow we ride!

This week the electrician roughed-in the electrical. A buddy and I had to put the fire rated drywall up on the common wall to the house. Needed to do this due to electric lines and outlets need to be surface mounted. The other two walls and ceiling will be recessed electric lines and went in before drywall. Notice the box on the wall? That is a subpanel with dedicated 20 amp breakers. Also, had an outlet wired for 240 volt. Will run the air compressor on that one.

Electrician missed running conduit and outlet for gas heater. It will be suspended in upper left corner. They will be back before drywall. Ceiling will be getting three 8' light fixtures. Also, got outlet roughed-in for outlet in ceiling for drop down power reel. Plenty of counter height and floor power outlets. Carpenter is behind schedule. Drywall contractor bids next week!

Nice work on the addition! I didn't have a building to modify, or add on to. So I ended up hiring a contractor to build my shop for me.

That is the way to go Skidmark! One day I will build a new house and have a separate building like yours. Thinking about a tunnel from house to said garage...

Update: Carpenter back today after rain, snow, and generally just the worst weather for the end of October one could imagine. It was 18 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. The sun was out and warmed to maybe 40. So, making progress. Next week the siding work will be finished. Will be tacking in insulation myself this weekend. The electrician will rough in one more outlet for gas heater. The dry wall will be hung on Wednesday. Friday, looking forward to a dryer duct flue and the gas heater getting installed by HVAC contractor. After that the dry wall taping. Will likely paint the walls and ceiling myself. Then the floor will be coated floor! After all that I will be moving in my equipment and then bikes! :woohoo: More pictures to come....
