I love traveling and it's my biggest passion besides motorcycles. I'd been to a lot of countries for the last 10 years: Germany, France, Turkey, Poland, Czech Republic... But my favourite country always have been France. Last year I decided to buy apartment in Cannes and settle in. I'm living here since then. I love to travel but I had to cancel my plans for this year because of you-know-why reasons...

I forgot what day it is in this statewide lock down. I have cleaned and waxed all of my bikes at least 10 or 12 times in the past weeks. I had even used Q-Tips to clean the brake dust out of the holes drilled in the disc rotors on my bikes!!!!! The shooting ranges are closed. Got run off the government land where we used to go shooting at. The bars are locked up solid. Got one neighbor that had his girlfriend leave him and had his hours cut. So he blows his brains out!!!!! Down on the end of the block, some guy beat his girlfriend or wife with a baseball bat!!!!! Glad I got a few model kits to build to pass the time, and not do something stupid like some of my neighbors did!!!!

This is the latest build from my work bench. Its a copy of the 1956 release by Revell of the Long Tom Gun model. This kit was produced by Life-Like using the very same molds that Revell used to make their kits. Only problem is the molds were nearly useless by the time Life-Like started using them. I have an original Revell kit, but since they are now worth well over 200 dollars if you can find one!!! So I build this model using parts from TWO Life-Like kits. I spent hours and hours reworking or just making new parts so I could finish this model. This model was the biggest challenge since I returned to the hobby!!!

Bet a few of you out there built this very same model if you were born in the 50's or early 60's!!!

The Long Tom Gun kit that I just finished in front of the Revell kit I built back in '64 or '65!!!!

Those are really cool Dr. Gamma. They must take a lot of concentration and patience.

As some of you know I get satisfaction out of welding up large sculptures 5' to 7' tall with which I try to recreate pre-historic cave paintings and petroglyphs. This time I added in some synthetic stucco to try to imitate the stone the petroglyphs are carved into.
This one is a creation based on "She Who Watches"

What do you think?

Love the look of your sculpture Mr. Bill. It fun making things with our hands. I would love to be able to do sculptures using motorcycle parts. I saw one where the artist used like a 250 LTD fuel tank as the body of a bird. The head and tail feathers were all different motorcycle parts!!!! Wish I would have saved the photo when I saw it.

I build my models with the very same patience and workmanship as when I was building my bikes. No taking half ass ways or shortcuts just to save a bit of time!!! You make something to the best of your ability and you keep pushing yourself to build or make the next one better than the previous one. If I make a mistake, I start over or correct it. Not just leave it. Today's generations do not know what it is to actually make something with their own hands. To make something out of nothing. That is why model building, model trains, and slot cars are dying hobbies. Hell kids and parents don't even build their own Pinewood Derby cars anymore, they would rather buy them. Look up Pinewood Derby Cars on Ebay and you will find tons of finished cars. Very sad in my book.

Check out this model diorama. Its a motorcycle work shop!!!!!! Its got to be in 1/12th scale by the Kanatuna on the lift. Check out all the little details the builder put into it!!!!!!! WAY beyond my pay grade!!!!

Hi Dr Gamma,
A local sculptor has produced this piece portraying local motorcycle champ Kenny Blake riding his RG 500. Very very cool!
I have included a link to the story and more photos of the sculpture, he also does tank birds

Thanks for posting the article about that beautiful piece of sculpture!!!!! The more I look at the closeup photos, the more I really appreciate the workmanship that went into making that fine piece of artwork!!!! The detail of all the little pieces of metal the artist used to make just one part of this amazing sculpture.

I am real happy to see that Australia does not have the inner city lowlifes that we have here in the States. If that sculpture was placed in any of the cities here, the inner city scum would vandalized it, shot it full of holes, or just plain destroy it in short order. Sad but true!!!!

Thanks again for posting it!!!!!

Two other mechanical distractions I own:

1970 Plymouth Cuda, 383 4spd

1963 Mercury Comet S-22
So the old Rocker gets out his bike to make a ton before he takes his leave. Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be. And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take and he hits the trunk road doing around 120 with no room left to brake.
