Been a while since we did this, and with so many new members maybe we should give it another go...

I'll start it off...
I'm an engineer working in a little aerospace company in Sothern California. I'm the company's Quality Manager and I also work for the FAA, certifying parts for airplanes.

I'm an equiptment operator and mechanic for my local town highway department. I mostly run grader and excavator in the summer months and plow snow and repair eqiuptment and trucks in the winter months here in the rolling hills of upstate New York.

KZLuke,

What do you consider Upstate NY? I always found it interesting that the more south one goes in NY the more south people consider "upstate". Growing up in Rockland County, people in Long Island considered that Upstate. Going to undergrad way up in Clinton County I learned what "Upstate" really is.

Coldankles,
It looks like you parked your rig in a shallow lake to drill the well. Isn't that considered cheating?:P Ed

No Ed, it was a flowing artesian well and while we were getting the water diverted away from the rig it flooded part of his hay field;)

I don't normally advertise it, but I'm a Corrections Officer in a level four and five prison in Ohio. Been babysitting there for almost nine years now. As fate would have it, "Thirty Days In The Hole" by Humble Pie just started playing!

Right now i am happily doing nothing! But what i did last year and will do again after New Years is teach English to Korean children.

I am a certified teacher in New York state, and i consider Rochester upstate (everything parallel to or north of Syracuse is upstate!)

After university i did not want to start the 20 year routine many folks complain so much about, so i have been traveling and when i can working in random countries; at one point i boxed Microsoft software in a factory in Ireland...

One day the party will end, I hope by then i can learn how to weld and try to weasel my way into a union... or maybe i will join the Army... or maybe learn to drive a big truck... i dunno

Hospital security is my game. Been doing it for about 15 years and have hated almost every minute of it! J/K It can be a lot of fun and I get a month of vacation every year! I have worked graveyard all those years. It's nice not having a boss and I make about 2 bucks more an hour for the night shift.

I've been doing home repairs (painting, sheetrock, trim, door intallation, walpaper,etc...), usually small scale, working dirrectly with the homeowners. For the last three years I've done quite a bit of tile work, but I don't enjoy that as much as I thought I would. So I'm trying to focus back on painting (less overhead). Been doing it for about 28 yrs now. Feast or famine!
