I tried the PJ1 gloss porcelain hard paint on my rear brake arm and I don't like the lack of gloss. Any suggestions on what is a good rattle can paint to use that gives a glossy powder-coat like look? Thanks.

I’ve used VHT with good results. I started using it when I noticed it was undetectable when I did touch ups on a few rough spots on my 1978 1000 LTD. I painted an entire 1977 frame with it for a frankenbike build to use up all my extra parts.

It appears pretty glossy in the photo. Is that the case? Thank you.

I have a 1976 A4 frame fresh from powder coat. Picked a satin finish but it still has a nice gloss. Tomorrow I can set the to side by and take a photo. There pretty dang close. As far as matching factory color and sheen the VHT matched so well I cannot tell you where I made the touch ups.

From another topic >> reply By MDZ1rider: I've tried just about every brand of black rattle can I could find over the years, comparing them with original factory painted parts. Here's what I've settled on: Frame, brackets, seat pan and lower triple clamp - Rustolium Semi-gloss black.
Upper triple clamp - Rustolium outdoor Satin black Engine cases and front hub- PJ1 High Temp Fast Black S (satin).
Paint snobs may laugh, but I tend to stick with Rustoleum. The quality is good, It's easy to use, You can buy it anywhere and the price is reasonable. Kawasaki didn't put a lot of time and effort into frame finish. If you're looking for an original appearance, a rattle can of semi-gloss will do fine. VHT Roll Bar black falls in between satin and Semi-gloss if you feel Semi-gloss has too much shine. END.

Several others in the same topic & other topics just go with Rustoleum. Kind of related, I used silver Rustoleum bar-b-que grill paint to protect some areas of my chrome exhaust system. I painted the insides & some of the hidden chrome areas that typically rust, including the cross-over manifold section. I was expecting it to peel off the chrome as the chrome is in excellent condition, but several years later it's still intact.

Can I use Rustoleum black barbecue paint to paint my engine case underneath the carbs on my 750 four? (2001 zr7s).
The original paint has flaked off to expose the aluminum underneath.
