I would like to do this with my 750E also. I think the Duck Tail looks better than the Square tailpiece for some reason.

But since I am A cheapo, I will use what I have for the time being, Maybe after getting back to work again I will start collecting more Kawasakis. Oh that would involve a storage unit or MOVING into a more comfortable home with a garage & Property (and SHEDS) too for spare parts and painting purposes.

Youd be surprised what you can do on a shoestring budget. I'm doing all this (hugger fab, fender eliminator, tail piece swap, et.al.) out of a 10X10 shed (that has LOTS of girlfriend gack in it!!) with nothing but basic hand tools, a dremel (gods gift to cheap fabricators!!) and an electric drill. OH...and a borrowed hacksaw with sh*tty blade. Scissor jack outta my truck and various/assorted scrap lumber get the wheels off the ground when they need to be.
Point is....like they told us in the Marines...improvise, adapt, and overcome

So....ya saw from my pics I hadda cut some off the front of this tail to mount on the 1000. Problem is, the 1000 has these raised tabs, so as to allow the "arms" of the tail to fit close down on the frame....650 tail doesnt have these.
I broke out the trusty dremel (Man do I go thru cut off wheels!!) and notched the new tail where the stock mounting holes are on the bike. 'Glassed in my own raised tabs. This shot is after the fiberglass matte lay up and a coat of fiberglass stranded filler. I sanded off the primer so you guys can now consider how the "tiger stripe" look would be with clear!:woohoo: :woohoo:

It may be sacriledge to some, but I've always found the 650 better looking than any of the 900s or 1000s. I LIKE that tail alot. Just don't start a trend or us 650 riders will have to start paying more for body parts!

Well....it's on there, for better or worse. I really like the look, but after I took the pics I realized now I got to work on the fender eliminator plate and get it tucked up under the tail piece more to clean it up.
The clear coat seemed to smooth out....use Turtle Wax polish compound, McGuiers (sp??) auto polish, then McGuiers swirl remover. Havent gotten the gloss I REALLY want yet, but was running out of light and HAD to get it on there to see it.
Not a bad match for a rarttlecan job, either, if I do say so myself....girlfriend asked me who I had paint it and how much it cost!!
Yet another example of what you can do when yer broke....err, I mean...uhm....on a "limited budget"

Looks great, nice work. It looks like it belongs there. More of a Streetfighter look than the 1000's "Duck Bill".

Like night and day. I never did like the look of the tail on the bigger bikes. Your bike looks sharp and better proportioned now. Really nice job, worth a vote in the Galleries I'd say. ;)
