I don't know as how I agree, Old Skul...Progressives I've had in the past went for a hell of a lot more than HD takeoffs. Even a pair of 13 1/2" stockers can be had for cheap, and with the Sons of Thunder Metric Cycle cuts added, still come in under the Progressives I've seen.

Thanks JMK. I didn't know they might not fit at the bottom. I will keep that in mind for my wife's bike. The Z1 is getting something different probably...

I have the stock single on my bike, and it's not rebuildable, but I did find 4 replacements for a measley $300.00-$800.00 thru Ohlins.

I had S&W's on mine, liked them, took them off only when they needed a rebuild kit and set them on a shelf.Rebuild kits are out there, I just didn't want to fool with them.
Purchase the Mulholands off a 1977 1000 LTD. Like them just fine. I also have some air shocks, but I have never used them.
I also went the "hardly davidson" style lower chrome shock for a couple of weeks. UNTIL... I notice the tire rubbing on the inside of the rear wheel fender ( my eleven year old son is 112 pounds) So off they came and are on a shelf too:S

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.

If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

Hey, Patmann, not that I'm on Pete's payroll (I'm not) or that we make reference commissions here at O.B. (we don't, but would take gratuities and bribes), but again I'm gonna refer you to Sons of Thunder Metric Cycle. Shocks are the man's thing, bro...
