Did that block you putting the second shock back on or did you just not get to that yet?

Yeah, that was for the sake of the picture. Everything fits back as it should.

That looks good, But what about ratio, Sprocket ratio is based on front to rear, How did you size for belt drive.

Cheers Dan

Nice job! Back when you were doing research, it seemed like the information was a little sparse. It's good to see that it didn't hold you back!

Yeah, there was really no information to be found except that it was supposedly possible. I was at the local salvage yard alot. The ratio's haven't changed that much but there is a change.
The chain was front 15 rear 45 so the ratio is 3
The Belt is front 22 rear 60 here it's 2.72
I've never even thought about what that would do to the ride. So. what did I do did I gain accel or top end.

If you went from a 3:1 to a 2.72:1 you lost accelleration and gained top end (if the motor has enough power to pull it) or at least reduced your rpm at the same speed.

did that front belt pully just bolt on? Are these from a KZ440? I have a KZ650 with a 44 or 45 tooth rear sprocket so it may be the same ratio as your setup before the belt conversion. So what pulley size should I look for to keep the stock gearing (ratio of 3?) This is very encouraging!

As an update I've put almost 400 miles on the bike since I did everything. No problems so far, most of the riding has been 1 up on country roads. So it hasn't been babied. Everything is still as it should be. Go for it!!!
