I'm trying to determine what the correct stance my 77A1 should have while on the side stand. It seems excessive to me and looking at pics of other members bikes I'm wondering if maybe either the stand is bent somehow or the past owner might of put on a different one to achieve this look. I would appreciate any detailed pics anyone can post of the sidestand (down or retracted) so I can determine what is causing this. btw stock size wheels and tires on bike.

Check the sidestand mounting tab where it's welded to the frame, it might have pulled loose or even split the frame tube at that point.

Be interesting to see how you go here!
I recently bought an "OEM Replacement" stand for my Z900 (A-4). Now it stands up far to straight, actually nearly fell over a while back.
So my question is: Is there a difference in length or shape in Z900 / Z1000 s.stands?

i just checked kawasaki.com for:

- the 1975 Z1
- the 1978 A2
- the 1978 C1 (police)

the main stand is the same part number for all 3, but the side stand is different for all 3.

(those exploded parts diagrams are great! i printed all the pics for my bike last week, and now it's my bedtime reading :cheer: )

if it leans too far the #1,2 carbs seep all the time and you foul the plugs out. like i do...i would rather the bike stand up..imo of course.

Not 100% on this but I believe the Kz-Ltd bikes differ on the length of the sidestands due to the diff in height caused by the rear wheel dia. Hopefully if someone can post a pic to compare it to, I might have the mounts bent upward causing the entire assem to kick out like it does. It's a good 30 degrees leaning if not more, just not right. post pics...post pics...post pics........

Sounds like you have a H2 triple kick stand on your bike.

definately leans more.....I would like to get it to the stance of your bike....how do you like the fairing...did you get it from Replifairing in Oz?? I'm considering putting one on a future project bike and if you care to, I'd be interested to see how the mounting goes for that. fantastic 'Max' Goose Replica.

Yes I got it from Gram at Replico and I love the way it rides. Can do 100+ with no problems of flexing or tossing the bike around. It cuts pretty good in the wind. I highly recommend in getting one. I'll take some pics of my fairing Brackets soon for ya.
