Allshook', I haven't got any ideas, however, I would recommend that you don't go for plastic unless you heavily reinforce the attachment to fork legs. My reason for this is that the original front guard was also designed to act as a fork brace.

I like the way the shorter chrome LTD type fender looks. I saw a couple on ebay yesterday. I'd consider that as one option.

The late 1970's and early 1080's Yamaha plastic front fenders make great fenders for most Japanees motorcycles. They are easily modified and can be mounted to hug the tire very closely.

I use an Arlen Ness cafe front fender on one of my bikes. No adverse handling. Got it from the Harley Dennis Kirk catalog. It was fairly inexpensive.

Great ideas, I would like it to hug the tire close.
I do have a KZ750 short front fender that has been painted maybe I will try and mount it up tight to the tire as see what it looks like. :)

The short fenders are more popular, and IMO look much nicer. They're always a hit in the chopper world.

The KZ750 fender oughtta fit if the forks have the same gap betwwen them (if not, there's always a hammer handy). If it's chrome, as I suspect, it will look just fine, but a painted fender is just fine, too. If you notice, kawasakikid38 uses the shorter painted front, and if you look again, you might notice the rear chrome shorty is also gone, giving the bike a nice clean "chromeless" look.

BTW--nice job, kawasakikid38.

i've got a kawasaki eliminator (1985) front fender on mine, much smoother and rounded looking than the original, and you can get them for the zl600 fairly cheap... bolted right on, and very close to the front tire. you can be the judge.
