I have a 1980 KZ750E and want a new front brake master cylinder.  I have found one at Z1 Enterprises that I would like to use but the brake light wiring connection is different (2 connectors) and my current set up is a plunger type.  Does anyone know if I can use an updated master cylinder and just simply use the updated wiring since they both have 2 wires?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

A hydraulic brake light switch can be used on all MC and 2 way joints. They are bullet proof and last longer.

I don't see where that master cylinder has a brake light switch.  If it does, just unplug the old brake light wires then connect new between the wire harness & new Br switch terminals.  I installed a Honda m/c w modern brake light switch & used the wire lead assy from a KZ1000P police bike.  The wire colors were the same & the terminals matched.  I could have made the little harness, but the prefabbed unit was easier.

note: I didn't need the switch in the pic. just the wire harness.

Great, thanks.  The m/c I’m interested in is designed for the switch used by the KZ1000-P switch so it sounds like it’s an easy swap.
