SETI is fun..
Even better is bluetooth. My ignition system totally jammed my bluetooth connection with my m-unit.
I forgot to try my cell phone data connection as I was so miffed.
So if your phone reception is something awful....Try shutting off your bike and trying the phone again.

I was also running solid core wires with rajahs. That about as bad as you can get.
I really got tired of the electrocution though.

Excuse the few days that've gone by, my soldering iron decided to stop working the day the relay arrived so I had to wait another few days for the new one. I finally got around to installing it yesterday. I set the spark plug gap to the appropriate spacing (0.7mm) and still nothing, I did notice though the bike does run if I set it to 0.35mm which before it wouldn't at all. When it started up it sounded much different, there weren't as many misfires as before. The voltage now on the coils is the same as the battery as oppose to before it was 1 volt lower. The sparks look much brighter than before, but still can't get it to run with the proper gap. What else could be affecting it? Thank you guys for the help.

Set to .35mm. The points are clean and they fully touch and separate when they open and close.

I feel bad. You told me your point gap 3 different times .35mm and i still asked what is your gap set to.

Put your meter to DC V
Ignition on/engine off

Black meter probe on the negative battery post.
Red meter probe on hex nut of spark plug
If your voltage is higher than .5 V then you have a bad ground at your spark plug

Turn off your ignition.
Disconnect both spark plug wires.
Measure the resistance with one probe in one spark plug wire and the other probe in the other spark plug wire.
Note resistance

Drop the point gap to .30mm.
It'll give the coils a bit more charge time.
Recheck your timing after your point gap change.

Which coil did you buy?
Are your points new?

Also, are they genuine Kawasaki parts or aftermarket? Some aftermarket stuff isn't really up to Kawasaki specs. Ed

Luis,
Your problem seems a lot like gavroyer's problem.
Check and see if your points are sparking when running.

You may have a bad condenser.
See if you can grab a NOS Kawasaki condenser.

I set the points gap to .3 and it helped a tad, it's running somewhat smoother now and the idle is much lower before it was at 3k now it's close to 1.8 without adjusting the carbs, just with that .05 difference in the points. I'm currently running the spark plugs at .35mm spacing as I mentioned before.

The voltage between the battery and the spark plug is very close to 0V. The resistance in the secondary winding is about 14 kΩ so it's within the specs of the manual.

The condenser is brand new, I changed it about a month ago because I thought it could be that. The points began sparking when I closed them the extra .05mm to set them at .3mm.

I bought the points and condenser off ebay, it said they were oem.

That's not a Kawasaki condenser. It might still be fine, but that could be a problem. I bought a brand new condenser that failed within a couple weeks of installation.

I think your condenser may be the problem.
The brand of those parts is JIS not kawasaki.
Do you have your old condenser and was it the original part?

The bike had the original one when I got it, it was incredible how much it would backfire, I swapped it out for this one and the problem disappeared. I went ahead and purchased a Kawasaki condenser to see if maybe it will do it. Hopefully it's that. The wait is on
