Which Dyna coil would best be suited for a 1980 KZ750-G1 twin? My stock coil might be on it's way out - the secondary resistance is infinite.

According to my service manual, The stock one has to be within 3.2 - 4.8 ohms on the primary, and 10.4 - 15.6 kiloohms on the secondary.

On Dyna's site, the closest match is a coil thats 3 ohm primary and 13 kiloohms secondary, and it includes two coils (I only need/want one).

The 3 ohm primary is the one you want.
I prefer Accel coils personally, that's what I use on my 750 twins, and they sell a kit for the twins that bolts right in, and includes only one coil. ~$60 IIRC.

Actually, I have a coil off a KZ650 on my 750G right now, someday I'll replace it with an Accel coil :)

Hey masospaghetti,
The dyna coil you want is the DC1-1. I suspect you already knew that. I already have an extra one but I'm not sure I don't need it myself. I suggest that you spring for two as I did and end up with a spare on hand.

I have bought from Dennis Kirk, and MAW.

I don't think that Jeff handles Accel (could be wrong) or I would have bought from him.

I have not seen a auto parts store with Accel motorcycle coils, but I don't live in a big city with lots of choices in parts stores either :)

I DO believe Jeff handles Accel coils. I suggest if someone is interested in a specific product they contact his business directly. Jeff DOES carry many things not reflected on his web site.
