Funny how they have the ability to do that. 8^) And, thanks again, Dave, for taking the time to post all of the great pics!

When the Big Digger first appeared at Kevins House He played around with a centrifical supercharger mounted up front where you now see the turbo.
Then we went twith the turbo setup like Bill Hahn was running with great success. Kevin also played around with the large intercooler just
in front of the rear slick ( Look closely ). We also ran a KMS ( Jerry Korman ) 3 and 4 speed drag only transmission . No down shifting possible
with this set up.
More later

Hey Dave - great pics! Was Big Digger fuel injected on alcohol? Injected turbo/alky is the classic F/B combo but I don't want to assume anything.... Thanks again.

Hey Mike
Yes the Big Digger has Hilborn mechanical Injectors. Running Alky and Tip the can with Nitro
Kinsler set up the injection for the bike.

Good stuff - thanks Dave! You wonder how many sprint cars that are out there running Kinsler/Hilborn setups? The gold standard of the day, for sure.

Our first meeting with Kinsler was kinda funny as I think back.
His shop was about 20 minutes from our homes so we loaded up the Big Digger into the van and headed over with out a appointment .
So all 3 of us walk in the door of Kinsler's shop and he takes one look at us and snickers. He was polite enough but I know he thought
" OH Boy, Here we go again " Young guys saying they are racers and probably dont belong here LOL. Well Kevin spoke to him and
Kinsler finally agreed to look at our race bike "wink , wink " to get us out of his hair.
So we go outside and Kevin opens the vans side doors and Kinsler looks in , pauses , then says " Drive around back and lets bring this into my shop "
So now Kinsler is treating us with respect as he is so use to wannabes bothering him . He just assumed " More Punks "
So we had a great visit and left the bike for Kinsler to do his magic and get us dialed in . Living in the burbs of Detroit back in the day
was a thing of beauty for racers , as we had a lot of the best in the business all around us.
Hope you liked this

Great story - thanks Dave! You guys certainly earned the respect of Mr. Kinsler (and many others, I'm sure). One look at the Big Digger and you can tell that you guys were involved with some serious business.

Kevin " the Taxi Driver" and his dad were cool people for sure.

Another Detroit area Digger that never lived up to it's potential was out there a little before Kevin.

Hey Ralph
Good to hear from you.
If you have any more pictures you want to post please do so.
I dont have many of Kevin's 2nd dragster ( Big Digger )
And you may remember more details too.
Memory is the first thing to go ( Maybe )
Dave
