My heroes, excellent coverage. Those British commentator blokes are full of "sunshine". :)

Sure it looks OK now, but wait until I really make it pretty, with some chrome and paint and some new tires and grips and the wiring. Don't forget the gearing, and the LED's and, and, and....

There have been over 200 recorded rider deaths in the Isle of Man TT since 1910.

I have heard more than one rider say, "if it wasn't dangerous, I wouldn't do it". They all know what thet're doing, and they know how dangerous it is. They accept it and look death in the eye anyway. This is one of the few pure things left in racing of any form. Racing is inherently dangerous, the Marco Simoncelli and Dan Weldon crashes show us that we can make racing safer but never will it be a sport devoid of danger. These guys embrace it and smile. These blokes know exactly what they're doing and wouldn't live any other way. Personally, I think they are heroes, even Valentino Rossi says they have more stones than he does, and that's some statement coming from him.

My two favorite Youtube vids from this year.

They had like 8 die in 2011 and a total of 233 I think over the years.

Two died this week at Macau Grand Prix in hong kong....one on bike and one in car.... :pinch:

What kind of video equipment are they using that doesn't pick up any wind noise at 170+mph but clearly records the sound of their engines? It really works great whatever it is. Ed

My favorite part of that video is Adrian Archibald (#8) at about 4:04 in a highspeed laid over wheelie, and the onboard footage at the end.

they might embrace and smile at death, but this year, tough guy Ryan Facquar lost his uncle who was a racer too, leaving a wife and three children orphans and said he just quits, just couldnt take that pain afflicted to loved ones anymore .

as someone who races i do appreciate the skills, not so much the philosophy. and call me coward but i would never, ever race on open roads.

yep....

not my bag and i dont support or watch it for the exact reasons mentioned...

when we lost Super Sic last year i was crushed and still am hurting when i watch Motogp and his name comes up or a picture.....and that was on a closed course with run offs and airfence...

If folks wanna kill and get killed....well fuck it...i aint gonna watch em.....that race is caveman days and should be stopped.....
