Maybe its deceiving but is your butt still on the seat? Whats up with that?

Bum on seat, it's half and half. If that makes sense. I was really worried about ground clearance, after carrying out the front and rear modifications. Didnt really want to crank the bike over too much, But as the photo shows, I really had nothing to worry about.

I have no racing experience whatsoever, just what I do on my own time, so don't mind me, just trying to learn. But isn't the point of getting your butt off the seat to gain ground clearance? I know I feel more comfortable in a tight bend with my butt off and my knee almost on the ground, bike seems more stable.

bum off seat is not a must, the old masters went fast without it.

what i was thinking about was your torso, you are very upright. getting your torso down will get you better leverage on the bars and puts you in more "attack mode".

When Wes Cooley was just kid, his dad used to tie his leather's zipper with a cord to the filler cap so he had to lay down on the tank, or otherwise his zipper would open!

you look almost as tall as me (6'4"), got the feeling your seat is too far forward and you dont have enough room to move your bum back to crouch. A pretty common mistake....

Not that I am a big champ (only third place in the series in the 2009 season), but that's how it looks to me

Maybe you racers have heard of the book I got most of my techniques from. I can't remember the title, but I do remember the author talking about riding a KZ650 around LeMans in 1977. That really struck me at the time, since my buddy owned the book and he had a 2005 GSXR1000. I think I learned more from the book than he did though. One day as we were riding through a bunch of esses I was right on his ass the whole time, he couldn't believe it. "But your bike is 30 years old!"
