1977 KZ1000 Frame was created by BohicaBob
Manufactured 10/76. There's a story behind this frame that will surprise you. Not sure if anyone is interested. If no one is, I will cut it up and dump it. Contact me for the specific details to see if you might even consider it. Frame is in excellent shape by the way and has been in my garage for years.

Too valuable! That's clean. There are 3 guys looking for cut off parts on the Kaw FB pages right now. Those 1 year rear peg /muffler brackets that filled up with water and rusted are sought after for repairs. Plus drag bike guys like them for the front cradle to back half the chassis.I just waited 3 months for a fresh clean title in my name from New York state, it is actually in the mail today!! For an unmolested, straight, matching code swinger.
The 76 KZ900 rear drum brake is the new Z1 for collectors as Mecum Vegas just proved!

I have 2 - 79-80 Shaft KZTOOAE---- (frame #) Titles from NY state. 1 each. 1-1979 / 1-1980. From bikes I dismantled and scrapped over the last 3-4 yrs.
Good for re-stamping necks into these older KZ bikes.
Nothing fishy! Just cheap old Shafty KZ1000's. New York is pretty simple on the older bikes. It's not a Harley were they are scrutinized!
Just floating this out there. If it's your bike and project your keeping and need a title. You can own a 79 or 80 KZ1000.
Over the last 40 yrs; Yes, I have re-stamped frames with different titles. It was quite common in the Western NY area.

Im curious on the story behind this 76 frame. I have a 77 1000 I am working on and its got quite a wobble. Im seriously worried my frame is tweaked and I was not able to see it before.. Not that I can see it now....

Frames can be straightened, but the frame must be completely stripped.

Quite a few things can cause wobble such as, worn or overtightened steering stem bearings, worn swingarm bushings or bearings, improperly serviced forks, bad shocks, improper tire inflation.Im curious on the story behind this 76 frame. I had a 76 900 LTD with a Goodyear front tire and I found it in the day those cause the wheel wobble front tire is very important.
. Check the balance have the wheel and try a different one if you have one they're not much to swap out if a friend has the same bike

Switching from ball bearing to roller bearing on the steering neck is a must have. The rear spagetti swingarm and his stock bearings will twist under heavy load. Rear shocks must swap to Koni (Ikon) or YYS. Only one brand and type of matching tire set on front and rear wheel. Change your tires before you reach the TWI. Correct tire pressure. Check wheel bearings for play. Change forg oil and springs, more pre-load and progressive spring rate.
