Valve adj tool 57001-113 was created by mvent
Has anyone bought and used the knockoff valve adjustment tool? Is it exactly like factory tool functionally? When searching I came across it on eBay it looks the same about 25 bucks less.
TIA

Ya get what ya pay for! I wouldn’t buy the aftermarket. I personally have not used one but have heard the lip that holds the bucket down is not correct and causes issues.

I think I paid about $60 bucks for my factory tool. That lip barely grabs the bucket. Anything less and I think you’ll regret trying to save a few bucks.
The factory tool looks like it’ll last forever.

Another vote for the factory tool. The people who made the engines developed the tool.

That's a $100 tool, man. I'd take a hard pass on that.
Motion Pro is $10? And there is always the zip-tie method. Lots of guys swear by that.

Having spent thousands of pounds on tools when I was spannering for a living I'm a little more pragmatic these days. Factory tools are nice, and an essential for a professional shop where they are used frequently but for things used "once a year" there are usually alternatives (not always) to do the job right for a fraction of the cost. Some factory tools are ludicrously expensive (I had to go factory for the head bolt tool on my Jaguar as the bolts are unique to Jaguar and the demand isn't high enough for somebody else to make them. It's a 12.5mm six point ribe bit and the 1/2 inch drive socket was $120)That's a $100 tool, man. I'd take a hard pass on that.

IMO, that's what Harbor Freight is all about. I have many "once a year" tools now, that I otherwise would never own.
