Another must have have life saver tool is.... an impact screwdriver. Hard to find nowadays, but Princess Auto still sales them.

They're readily available on Amazon and eBay and Lowes carries the current Craftsman version.

I don't know about the quality of the new stuff, but I have a Craftsman impact tool that's almost 30 years old. I needed to do a clutch swap on the GPz550 in '92 (maybe '93) and it was a real lifesaver.

I just purchased two Vessel impact screwdrivers from here.  I would avoid Amazon if you don't want something from China.

The hamade forked screwdriver tool might be to rotate threaded, slotted ring fasteners recessed into a threaded bore. Good Ridin'slmjim & Z1BEBE

I realise this thread is over a year old now but I recently discovered about JIS screwdrivers from this forum so thanks for bringing it to my attention. I simply never new I needed them but have now ordered a set of these from Amazon -  Amazon.com: RW 0059-006 JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) Screwdrivers #1, 2, 3 (Set of 3) Small Medium Large Metric Full Tang Solid Shaft Screw Driver : Tools & Home Improvement  and patiently waiting for them to arrive. The idea of being able to clip a ring spanner on the end and being able to smack it with a hammer at the same time appealed to me. I'd be interested to know if they're a good buy or rubbish from some that might have tried them.

Those are good tools made by Go Fast Innovations in Canada. Also available at Z1 Enterprises for considerably less money.

These screwdrivers were sourced and sold by a long time member of The GS Resources.  It's nice to keep money "in the family."

Vessel screwdrivers are pretty nice & have comfortable grips.  I have a couple from RJR Cool Tools, I guess they're still around.  I also have a metric T-handle kit from sears & a hand impact set from the auto parts store made in Taiwan (not china).  The impact driver is handy for removing the engine cover fasteners >> the original screws are still in place & undamaged.

I use Vessel too.  Got them from Japan.  You can also use them as impact drivers.

Vessel "Impacto" version drivers are awesome!  They are not super heavy duty, but they work great for things like stuck carb screws.  I use Impacto, and the regular green handle jobbies on a daily basis.  Fantastic tools!
