I'm just so incredibly pissed! Been watching my bid on this 1970's Motorcycle Mechanics textbook for a week. I knew someone would probably snipe it at the end, so I had my ass glued to my desk for the auction ending. Then the freaking listing jumps from almost 7 minutes to 13 seconds! And even though my frantic bid registered on my end, it didn't go through.

F#%k you Ebay. F*#k the horse you rode in on, and anyone who ever fed or even looked at the horse. F%#k your dog and your socks. F@#k the space you leave in the air as you walk past. Just f%$king die!

So, that being said, anyone got some old textbooks from the 60's-80's that they'd be willing to part with?

Could it be that the time warp was the result of a problematic internet connection?

Anything is possible in an infinite universe, but it was counting down by the second normally on my end.

I've lost a few things the same way...frustrating for sure...

I quit playing that last minute game. To frustrating. I bid as high as I am going to at the front end and walk away until it is over.

I've lost items forgetting to bid. I have no time for that last second bid crap

I use to sell a lot on eBay but it makes them more money than I was making so I quit selling unless I had some very nice parts to sell.

I will buy parts that I can't find elsewhere. I just bid what I think it is worth and walk away. I will get a email if I win. End of story.

Use the parts wanted here if it is bike related.

Last minute snipers used to piss me off until I realized either:
A. They were just willing to pay more than me.
B. I didn't place my maximum bid at what I was willing to pay.

I decide what the item is worth to me, enter that as my maximum bid and wait for the won/outbid e-mail. I now enjoy looking at the bid history on an item I've won and seeing some sniper place a series of higher and higher bids in the last minute, only to have the auction end before they reached my max bid. I really love it when their next increment would have won! I'm to old to play stupid games, but I still enjoy beating a sniper when I wasn't even playing!

Yeah, it was just frustrating to get beat when I was trying to enter a much higher bid and couldn't. That being said, I managed to find a free online scan of P.E. Irving's Tuning For Speed yesterday, very exciting!

Last minute snipers (Seller):

Have had this happen a couple times now.... I said oh well, then a day or two later received an e-mail where the buyer backed out... Yeah right!

Seller writes " Buyer backed out so if you still want, still for sale at bumped price"
OMR replies "Still interested but at my last bidding price only otherwise stick it in your ass"
Seller "OK, send paypal"

Seriously I picket up the brand spanking new ZX6 front fender for 1/2 price and they paid shipping. Same with the ignition advancer I just recently picked, went from my $9 to $45 at the last moment... got it for $9 plus shipping ~$15 total)...

Just the way the game plays...
