I am looking for a place to get tire spoons and rim protectors other than eBay. I am in Canada and the shipping is crazy for some reason. Any ideas? Or home remedies?

You can purchase tire irons thru any motorcycle dealer - get the longest ones they sell... they might even have some sitting in stock.

As for rim protectors I cut up empty plastic frozen yogurt/ice cream containers (2L size) cut a 2 inch wide strip all the way around the middle which will usually yield 4 to 8 strips about 4-5" long. Since they are curved they make excellent rim protectors.

4 pieces are enough for one tire change.

The plastic is thick enough to take a pounding and if it gets worn just, throw it out... That's what I do and I am "up" in Canada - never had an issue buying tools...

Try these folks, they are up north. Look in the tools section, everything I've ordered has been very good quality.

That's the one I was thinking, I think I will get a couple myself! That sure beats $19.99 each at crappy tire.
