I have a spare set of vacuum guages doing nothing. They'll need some dampers and hoses. They were brand new, never used.

Understandable no doubt... The Z1 analog unit is ~ $75 plus shipping... Jeff also has a Pro-Motion unit as well, think it was ~ $100....

Found that these Analog gauges where ok for the most part but where considerably off when compared to the Morgan unit for tighter tolerance in the adjustments are obtainable and is desired especially in a performance build...

Seriously, it made that much of a difference...;)

Actually, I would think anyone would want this in a stock build as well but that's me...

Service manual calls for carb sync in routine maintenance and pretty much anytime carb adjustments (outside of simple elevation change tweaks) are made...

I've used mine numerous times throughout engine build, carb jetting and maintenance where I want it spot on henceforth dialed in for performance...

NOTE: I also realized this wasn't going to be my only KZ... I'm addicted to it now....:blush: :woohoo:

Anyhoot, go too cheap if you wish but I'd wager you'll be posting as I and others have where certain procedures/gaskets/seals/tools etc... just have to bite the $$$ bullet if you expect performance out of the old girl...

At least get a good set of analog gauges for under a hunski.... J&P cycles has them as well...

I know several of these homemade versions have been posted, here's a link to one more. Since this one only uses one gauge I suppose it's accuracy may not be as important since all carbs will be set to one dial. Jury is still out for me to build or buy, Colortune for mixture seems idiot proof so I might have to spring for that. Link is for a XSLemon site...sorry about that.

that system on the excessive 11 site seemed like it was pretty bulky and dam near the same to build as it would be to buy a pro model unit like i have and trust me if you have one you will find many uses for you can amaze all your friends for one. and maybe make a couple of bucks as well on the side once you figure out how good they work. what ever style you go with it is a good investment.

Just so I got this straight, you would use the something like the Pro-Motion unit to sync and the Colortune to aid in the rich/lean department or jetting.

correct....

The color tune is used in three adjustments...

Idle 1000rpm
Slow raise of the throttle to 3000rpm
Throttle blip @ 3000rpm....

the color tune set-up is really a great idea to aid in jetting if you don't have access to an exhaust gas analizer. which unless you work at a shop that has one would a bit to expensive and bulky for the average guy to justify owning.

hhhmmm i guess ill have to think realy hard on this
i do have a friend that has a set and has told me that he would sync my carbs for free
i dont think i would be buying any more bikes
i dont plan on touching the carbs unless i have to "if it aint broke dont touch it "
rejetting i dont know enough about jetting to play around with it lol
well thank you guys you have given me alot to think about

For the restrictors, I use an aluminum knitting needle and cut it into 5mm sections. They also work well if you have to plug a vac line etc.
