Race cut trans??

I just saw this bike on eBay, and the seller said that it has a 'Race Cut Trans' that shifts through the gears clutchless.

Could someone please explain to a newbie how this is possiable?

gear to gear engagement is mechanically done through pieces called dogs. they are rectangle tabs that are on the side of each gear. what is done is that a under cut is performed to create a taper on the dogs, that make them slip together easier and to hold more power while on the gas

what he said.that bike has a stock block if it is a 1260 its gonna overheat and be hard to keep rings in.

What Trip said with, won't actually shift clutchless. Any tranny can be shifted without clutch, close throttle, lift on shifter, get back on throttle. An undercut tranny will stay in gear better under heavy loads. Typically good to do between 1st and 2nd gears.

Correct the clutchless W.O.T. shifting set up has to do mainly with a stall or ignition burp device incorporated with the air shifter dyna equipment is standard here

Race cut also refers to the practice of removing three of the 6 dogs on the gears,leaving only 3. The trans shifts easier as there are only 3 dogs to align with each other when shifting. Back cutting or undercutting the gears is just that.

When I put a GPZ tranny in my dragbike,I put the KZ undercut /backcut trans in the streetbike. Just a small lift of the throttle for clutchless upshifts.

Good idea, Jack. Where were you 6 months ago before I put my tranny in.
