My older buddy that lives across the street has an 82 KZ1100 Spectre that he has recently replaced handlebars with 2" riser bars. Anyone know what he should ask for to get the right length of clutch cable? He says it just looks funny with stock cable and those bars. Think the brake line going to the handle bars needs to be shorter as well.

Thought nobody better to ask than you all.

he should measure for a new cable. tell him to pay attention how the old cable is routed. something as simple as replacing cables can be vexing.

To avoid getting the wrong cable, he'll need to measure the old one & figure out how long the new one needs to be. Some guys use a homemade measuring device, such as a length of clear tubing. Or if possible, he could disconnect the old clutch cable at the clutch lever, extend the end past the lever until the length looks right, then measure the overage & subtract that from the length of the old cable after measuring it. He should move the handlebars side to side while holding the old cable end firmly in place.

Try a 1982 GPZ 1100 clutch cable. Motion Pro makes one that's a good length. That's what I went with when I put Daytona bars on the 1100A.
