Ride on! your bike sounds healthy, what is fuel costing you these days?

My bike is still apart but I have everything needed to put her back together now and a bunch of time to do it.

Here the price for Shell and Exxon 89 octane is $2.09 per gallon. Of course that's before you get the Giant Food discount. Some other brands of regular gas cost $1.99 per gallon, but I always run "top-tier" brands of gasoline. Yesterday, with the discount, I bought Shell 89 octane for $1.85 per gallon. Keep in mind that included in that price is the Maryland state tax of $.35 per gallon and the Federal tax of $.18 per gallon, so the fuel itself before taxes cost me $1.32 per gallon. Ed

Most of the price of gasoline is Tax for the treasury, the oil companies are on a very narrow profit margin over here.

Gas has been hovering around the $2.00 mark for a long time here in the lou. Gas prices jump considerably whenever crossing over the Mississippi into Illinois. JB has to pay for all of that free stuff somehow. :pinch:

On today's price of gas in the UK for every $ you spend 66 cents goes to the government, and they call the oil companies greedy.

I live in the country but work in the Chicago land area and get clipped for around 400 bucks a year in tolls.
my truck only gets around 16 mpg and my closest gig is 120 miles round trip, if I had to pay 5 bucks a gallon we'd be sunk.
This lock down is going to bring the American Express ( credit card )way down but then we have nothing coming in either.
Now I'm spending money on gardening and bike parts instead of gas :)
Our government is printing new money like crazy right now and I'm sure our taxes will reflect that sooner or later.
