I hit something a month or so ago - no idea what it was - at about 60mph. It was too small for a bird but it was flying and kind of hovering so it must have been a bug.

It had a hard shell of some kind, because it made a really loud THOCK sound when it hit my helmet - actually felt the impact. It didn't leave anything behind to identify, unfortunately.

Many instances of bugs in the helmet. You expect that down here in Florida. Had a close encounter with a Turkey on one of my favorite go fast curvy roads. The thing was sitting on fence obscured from view by trees as I was coming fast down to the bottom of a hill. The Kerker was howling and must have startled it just a few yards before I got to it. Thing took off and crossed my path as i ducked my head. Have no idea how I missed it. Thing was huge! Could have been a buzzard for all I know. Not sure. Happened too fast.

I have been the target of large Michigan June Bugs and they can rip skin off your face
or look like a 3 egg omelet on your face shield. Boy oh Boy , They hurt.
A friend hit a deer one night . It jumped out of a corn field and he T boned it cutting it in half.
He went down but he was ok. A passing car stopped and thought he was dead
as he was covered in blood from the deer exploding against his front tire and forks.
Nasty stuff

Some years when the butterflies migrate the arms on my black HD jacket (made in CHINA in 1987) will turn yellow. One reason for the windshield.

Forgot to mention the Love Bugs. We get swarms of them in March and September I think. Urban legend states they were some sort of genetics experiment created by U of F to control mosquitos. Not that they hurt much, but just the idea of hitting something while they're fornicating. Not a bad way to go I suppose.

I hit the desert version of the June bug. Jagged legs tore the skin right off. Felt like I hit a rock.

The maiden ride on my restored Z1 I got about 100 yards from my garage when a good size rock shot out from under a truck tire, Hit me right in the knee..could have been the freshly painted tank! Rode home with blood down the side of my leg.

Got nailed with something square in the fore head that about knocked me out once..... two bee's one under my glasses and one in my ear come to mind too......... once in my car I went through a swarm of yellow jackets that blasted the wind shield all under the wipers still stinging ....... all I could think was wow am I glad I was in the car and not the bike.......

One more a big truck kicked a rock off the side of the road that I swear was 6 inches around that nailed the center lower part of the windshield of my old truck and didn't even crack it...... I swear it hit so hard my chest almost hit the steering wheel from the impact...... buddy riding with me couldn't believe it didn't shatter the wind shield too.
