:cheer: I was riding on march 25th... near 70 degrees ....nice day..... my right foot came off the peg after becoming unsettled by a pot hole and and then my leg/foot got stuffed into the next pot hole at the end of the block of pavement . :( impact knocked me and the bike sideways......I corrected and stopped the bike. putting the side stand down thinking the bike bottomed out. I stepped off and immediately fell to the ground, I crawled to the curb and looked at the underside of the bike .....no visible damage...then it dawned on me,... the sound of a large tree limb cracking was my leg  .....I crawled back over to the bike, pulled myself up and proceeded to ride on home and put the bike in the garage. I used a make shift crutch ( corn broom turned upside down) to get inside. I spent the next 4 days in bed...went to my knee surgeon, x rays, mri, pic :S
i'm able to barely get around using a walker..... serious damage to the peaks ,tibia, and fibula fractures.I'm staying in bed 18 hours a day to keep the swelling down ... My doc won't do anything till the fractures heal.  looks like this is going to be a long summer for me  at least i didn't crash the bike  ....... I'm OLD and BUSTED

Sorry to hear that story TK. So, just what does the Doc intend to do after the fractures heal? I'm assuming that they gave you some pain killers beyond Advil, If they did go easy on them, they can be hard to give up after the need for them passes.
Get well soon.

Good grief !
Sounds really painful and likely to be that way for while. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Hope you get better soon.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Best wishes on fast recovery, TK. I use to hate the I-75 in Michigan. As soon as you cross the border from Ohio to Michigan, the pot holes started. They use to say it was because the weight limits were much higher in Michigan. I guess its getting bad all over.

I know just how you feel. Don't try to walk too soon. Yeah right I cut the heel off a tennis shoe, taped it to the cast and was getting around. Take it easy.
The roads are getting worse but that's for another time.

sorry for the delayed response..... :( tough for me to get to the computer ....... damn leg brace is killing me ! well , after the fractures heal , doc says he can go in and remove the broken bone chips, then smooth /repair the damage. still may have other damage according to the doc :S percocet and vicodin are for my pain.....I'm not much for drugs , but my leg pain is terrible so I'm doing as little pain meds as I can tolerate  hoping for the best.
