I hate to hear it, I really do. Death awaits us all, and it's small consolation when one meets their end doing what they love...

It looks like the authorities officially confirmed the identity of the pilot killed as Tony Quibell: www.nelsonstar.com/news/211902801.html

Tony was not only a member but also a moderator here at KZR. Maybe Stein could make Tony's beautiful MKII the bike of the month for the next two years or so in memorium. The bike is certainly deserving on its own merits.

Yes,he was a great guy,and a great friend.Very sad, very tragic, because where he did crash WAS pretty much his back yard.He was heading to Saskatchewan,he only got about 50 km's out when it happened.
I've been spending time with his family(3 kids)and they are all devastated to say the least.
At one point, they weren't sure if they were going to be able to recover his body, they were running out of resources, and the terrain was really unsafe. They managed to get him off the mountain on Saturday,so now the family will have some closure.
Him and I have put on thousands of miles on the KZ's,over the years...riding around here won't be the same, that's for sure.
His daughter wants me to teach her how to ride, and I know Tony would be ok with it,so it looks like her and I will start some lessons this summer.

Rest in Peace,Tony...loved you like a Brother...fly high my friend.

I have never met a Tony I didn't like. He sounds like he was a fantastic guy. Losing a friend is never easy, and I hope that you can find some peace in teaching his daughter how to ride. It sounds like a great experience for the both of you. May he rest in peace, and always be remembered.
As much as I agree with the term "YOLO," I equally hate it.

Oh my God! Tony's gone! He and I've been mods here since there were mods on KZR. I cannot tell you how many times it was his voice of reason that helped me keep going.

Hey Brother, I'll be calling on you!

I've lost a Brother.

Very bad news. He will be missed. Like others, I traded numerous messages with him over the past 4-5 years. Hard to believe.
