Here in Eastern Nebraska the last two days we had 50 degree weather and sunshine, most of our "white sh#t" is gone! I got to go on two brief rides in the pasture, a couple laps on the XL250 (I know, brand H) , and a short test blast on my W1 after resetting the float level. I had replaced the float in the Fall after the original developed a leak and filled with fuel, but didn't check or set the float level and it turned out to be about 10mm low and was so rich it wouldn't even run WFO. She rips now, (for a 1966 650 twin!) I think my next wintertime project will be 1974 Z1A engine assembly-one of my favorite TTD!

We are looking at a good 8 inches, thats not bad with the frost level and sun after.I do use a 32 inch snowblower to clear the drive but the bad part is I'm 900 + ft off the road with another 250ft to the shop and animals, but I still like it. Family got this shop rag for me this christmas , lets think of one for the ZHEADS out there.

You must mean cocaine??? Better look to the OTHER border for that!

Last winter was extraordinary for snow here in the BC interior. But as I write this we have no snow on the ground and have had only a couple of smallish snowfalls so far during the so called winter. Very unusual, but temperatures are too cool (around freezing) to bother taking a bike out.

I'm working on VM24 carbs today. Very similar to 26's, but a few wrinkles. The PO said he rebuilt them...yeah right! He put new float valves and jets into them. Never bothered to clean the main emulsion tube...full of gasoline snot. The outsides were covered with grease and dirt. The joiner between carbs was cracked and has to be replaced. What's with the two intake ports on the downstream side of #2 carb? Never see that before.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I'll never understand why they call it an Alberta clipper. It's beautiful, warm, and the sun is shining here.

Thank you Ed! Looks like the second port is for the petcock. I didn't realize the petcock wasn't a gravity only feed.
