At least it didn't turn out like it did with my friend Dan. I'd been riding 400 miles one way for 3 days to help sell his classic vehicles and junk. Long story short he tried to get me to rip off a buyer so I stopped selling for him at XMAS. I got a email from him the day before, the next day I sent him one telling him I'd be driving my daughter's car being it was too cold to ride. No answer to my email or calls. The next day I called the Sheriff and they found him leaned up against the side of his bed. He had polished of a fifth of JD along with his 10 beers a day and that did him in.
Everyone called him Dirty Dan the 40 years I knew him. I was the only one he couldn't GANK.
He said I was the only friend he had left. I guess thinking I wasn't going up there anymore sent him over the edge.
Too bad, I had his Vette and bike sold and planned to stay there until everything was sold as well but that wasn't meant to be.
I'm glad Clay is well. I hope he isn't upset you had them check on him. As we age we lose people from our lives and soon it will be our turn. Tell them how you feel about them for tomorrow may never come.
