Wanting to add some luggage capacity to my '81 650 CSR. Does any one have pics or tried a particular brand of saddle bags that fit ? I was looking at the TourMaster line and a couple others, hard to choose without trying them on the bike.

I've been wanting to add saddlebags to my 650-CSR, but it seems like the turn signals are going to be in the way. I use a Cortech tail bag that I like, but never got around to getting the saddlebags or moving the turn signals.

Luggage rack. If you're interested in getting a luggage rack, there are universal fit racks from back in the day on ebbaayy. I've had one on my csr for several years. it was listed for a KZ550, but the type was used on many models. Kaws, Hondas, Suzuki, Yamaha. most sellers just list them according to the bike they were on. CB750. GS850. XS650. KZ1000. etc. Aschco & KG are a couple of brands.

My bike has a KG rack adapted to the back, pretty decent fit. Yes , the turn signals would probably be in the way but the leads have a couple extra inches of wire . I'll look a little more at the tail bags, might work easier than the saddle bags. 49 degs and a little sun yesterday, put 70 miles on the bike just cruising the back roads :)

A simple solution for the turn signals that might work would be to move them to a rearward hole on the luggage rack. maybe go with shorter stems or different signals.

I bought a CSR many years back that had a set of saddle bags on it.
Will look for some pictures.
May help.

Very similar to the set I had on my 650C2, which I could probably let go now:

I got a set of TourMaster bags off eBay and a luggage rack/sissy bar that fits the bike. They were used in decent shape, Cruiser III in the medium size. The bags will set pretty well with the tail lights repositioned on the luggage rack a little farther back than the stock mounts were. The seat won't open on the hinges with the new rack in place. I took the pins out and use the lock on the left side and the rear pin inserted on the right side after the seat's in place. A little stainless wire loop around the verticle frame bar holds it in place. Looking at a couple tail bags to hang on the back and I should be ready to go. If I need more space, I'll just go shopping for a Voyager.......
