Was the steering damper ever a factory/dealer upgrade?

Yes the lower tree was setup for it. The frame gusset was stronger but in 76 they added another one on other side and put reflectors on them. They're very weak so one needs to be beefed up and a hole drilled or clamps must be used.

Allen head cap bolt. Most fasteners are wrong. Drilled rotors. Short turn signal stems. Wrong tires. Wrong plug boots. Wrong brake/clutch levers. Tire sticker on the rear inner fender? No helmet sticker on the frame. Rectangular tire sticker on the rear duck tail. Repop rear fender(the rear wire harness in not routed through the rubber coated bracket. Something looks wrong with a black terminal cap on the positive battery terminal. Lack of attention to detail. The front brake hose grommets are distorted, the tachometer cable needs to be between the dual front brake hoses. Zip tie on front fork station? Ignition coils are aftermarket. Rear hub painted black.front RH upper motor mount bolts in backwards. D.I.D rear rim (no rim locks). I don’t see the red infill on the run/stop/run switch. Actually it’s the wrong RH control. Wrong wire clips at spark plugs, Z1 were rubber coated.

Edit: I agree with HRM, it’s a rebuild, not restoration. It’s pretty, but so much wrong. But it’s the buyer that needs to do their research. I don’t like the way it presented. It’s far from a museum nut and bolt restoration. That being said why did it take 2 years. You could buy all those parts and have them in less than a month. About two to three weeks to bolt it together. 2 months tops, total for parts order shipping and build. Sad someone will pay to much money for it.

Front foot pegs are aftermarket. Wrong spring clamps on the air box breather hose and carb bowl over flows

Rear Brake switch is aftermarket. Look were the carb bowl overflow hose rubber band is. It’s wrapped around the frame and not on the upper rear engine mount spacer. I know if I paid $650 for carb rebuild I’d like $25 worth of choke spools installed.

The more i look the more it upsets me about how it’s presented. It’s a bunch of aftermarket repop junk.

The zip tie on the front fork is to check sag and how much stroke is being used when riding to set compression and rebound. Sort of odd to see that on forks that can't really be adjusted...

If nothing else, the bodywork looks good.

In addition to what's been mentioned, the front brake hose is routed through the throttle cable loop,  the funky long acorn nuts on the exhaust flanges, and it appears in the close up on the right side of the front wheel that the gap of the axle clamp is in the front.

I knew you guys would get a kick out of it,  definitely not described accurately!  Maybe it can be used as a guide as to how NOT to "restore" a Z1A.

It would be a great advertisement for Z1 Parts. Except for the frame, Engine (suspect), carbs, lower forks, and front and rear hubs, it’s a poster child for the aftermarket world... The aftermarket has it place, but not in being pawned off as a 2 year Museum nut and botl restoration.
