Thanks guys. I've decided to go for 1075 but still haven't decided whether to spend the money I'll save on new brakes or just use the stock ZRX brakes. Got the garage cleaned out today but it looks like the boys Zephyr will be taking up most of the space for winter. I'll just have a bit of room in the corner to figure out the riding postition and sort out what I want to chop of the frame.

I believe they are all the same, the only difference is the jetting and the needle, both will require tuning, the ports need to be matched to the rubber manifolds which fit from the ZRX (bit sketchy on this- long time ago, do some homework). I originally had the GPZ900R 34mm carbies but I found the ZRX (I bought cheaply) were not only better in the top end but as good if not better on the bottom. Using CV carbies there is one draw back (I have foam filters) when there is a strong cool side wind, the outer CV tend to drop vacuum but 90% of the time its great.
I was lucky I had an air/ Fuel mixture meter which allowed me to tune them in, well worth the effort though.
First Permanent ride the Z1R since Dec1977 (220,000km) as of June 2015
Second permanent bike 1989 FJ1200 dyno'd 140RWH, great bike.
Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, getting new/ refurbished 83-84 motor soon
Forth my work bike FJ1200 1989 (same type as above)

I am curious because I have never seen a CVK pumper and was not aware that there was more than one type of carb used on the ZRX.

I assume the diaphragms on the side of the CVK carbies are for pumping fuel, I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong. I did state they are the same carbs on the ZRX range

Starting to get some parts together. Got the ZRX forks and a second tail section to butcher (thanks kzstreetfighter71).
Sold the Hornet as well, so have paid for the bike and ordered a new triple clamp and swingarm.

The garage has been cleaned out and the mini and the 750 are in bed for the winter. Time to get some work done on the boys zephyr before I pick up the KZ1000.

Triple clamp arrived today. Picking the bike up next weekend. Should have the clip-ons, speedo, tacho, headlight and the electrics for under the tail section by then. Looking forward to getting it together so I can figure out the riding position and get the tail section sorted.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationPicked up the bike. No trailer so dragged my son along to help get it down to size so it would fit under the bed in the van. Collecting a few more parts and will start putting things together next week. Until then I'll be helping the boy get his Zephyr together - painted the engine yesterday so can start rebuilding it next week as well.

Looking for cams and found these:

Was planning on getting the 110's from Webcam (webcamshafts.com/pages_vehicles/motorcycle/kawasaki/1730.html) but the Yoshi's are a lot cheaper. Not as much lift or duration but as I have no idea what difference it will make I thought I'd ask you guys :) Current plan is 1075cc with ported head and 38mm intake valves.

Here's the bike in the van:

Maybe import taxes and currency conversion makes the difference, but Ebay converts those Yosh cams to $668.10. Schnitz lists the Web 110 for $629.

For me it's €570 for the Yoshi's and €775 for the Web's.

From what I can gather the Web's will be better at high revs but the Yoshi's should be smoother down low at the cost of top-end power. That sound about right? Forgot to say before that I'll be running RS34's.

Correct. More duration move peak hp up in the rpm and could make the idle slightly rougher. The Yoshimura cam duration is measured at .040 and the web is measured at .050. Not sure how much that would change things. The Yoshimura cams are their stage 1. They also make a stage 2 that would be the same as the Web110.

Asking which is the best cam profile is a bit like asking which is the best engine oil. There will be a bunch of "right" answers. One of the variables you did not mention is porting. That will have quite a bit to do with the flow numbers and power potential and power band. You should have a cam conversation with whoever is doing the head work.
Based on what you have said so far, my guess is that those Yoshimura cams will leave a lot of power potential unrealized.
There are some really good threads about this, in which the late LarryC discussed porting and flow and such. I do not know if they are still available, or if they got archived.

(Perhaps we should have a "Which cams" FAQ.)
