Must be why they give you 2. I'm not the only air head old man lol. I have a long way to go with this build and it's been awhile,sure gonna need u guys

I have no horse in this race but my sticker is the same as the ops, readable from the left on a 78 LTD with the frame number stamped underneath the sticker. Surely if the sticker was read from the right then the sticker and stamped number would not be readable from the same side?

The only horse in the game any of us have is helping members get good information so they can make informed decisions on how to continue with their builds be it a full nut and bolt concourse restoration. Or just a mechanical restoration to get and keep these older bikes on the road. Here are three of my known factory untouched vin stickers.

Of course mine could be a replacement sticker but judging by the state of the bike when I bought it, and the aged look of the sticker it's certainly not an obvious replacement.

This might need input from members with more knowledge. I just located pictures of a 1978 Ltd frame I purchased about 4 months ago, and sent out to powder coat just before shutdown. I haven’t contacted the vender yet nor have they researched out to me for an update. Nonetheless the vin sticker is readable from the left. The originality of this sticker is Unkown to me but it’s “original” looking enough to raise questions.

That's interesting and the same design as mine with the weight specs not so near the top. Maybe it suggests a change of sticker either for year or model?

AFAIK orginal VIN Stickers should have round Corners.

I think they go both ways. Not sure why. I have originals going both ways.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I’m wondering, like Bob Maximum, if it’s a change in the sticker when they went to kz1000. The first 3 photos I posted were all kz900’s

Here is my 1980 KZ 1000, photo from the left side as you are seated on the bike. Also, one of my Z1B's photo from the left side. Lastly, a KZ550 photo from the left side. I still have a couple to check. My second Z1B and my 2008 KLR.
