Mikaw, you're over thinking this. It's not the end of the world if you do something incorrectly and have to split cases again. When I was working with one of my Z1B's I had to tear the engine down five times trying to figure out why the kick shaft was making grinding noises when the engine turned over. Turns out it was because the transmission wasn't standard. The muscles in my shoulders were very tired from all the shrugging!

Getting close! Do you plan to re-paint the DOHC on the stator and points covers?
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

The point at which a Z1 in the midst of a frame-off starts to look like a Z1 again is one of the most satisfying experiences in the entire process. Lookin' good.
It's interesting to observe other enthusiasts techniques and order of reassembly. If we were into the top end at all, we always opt to install the motor sans jugs & head to lighten the load.
