Head painted in my highly sophisticated spray booth. Next it's off to my high tech oven for baking (another of the "don't tell the missus" moments).

oh, and possibly the best bit of airbrushing ever on the side cover. Any Michael Jackson fans out there?

Cool. I thought it was "...no MERE mortal can resist..."
As a friend of kiwis and their lovely accent, I'll allow myself to suggest you be careful and not drop that Z1R on your "deck"

She lives again....mostly! Motor back together, running great but a piss poorly fitted head gasket by yours truely wasn't ideal! Still awesome to be back out and riding the old girl again though!

Engine is back in the process of being rebuilt and another head is not too far from being fitted. I had the second head vapour blasted and gave it a good post vapour blast rinse in the dish washer. Don't tell my missus lol.

Also got the new (old) rear caliper refurbished. New pistons, seals, and paint. All fitted now and no leaky weird stuff going on. Bonus.

While the Z1R has been in bits I have spent too much time lurking on the internet and decided that I really needed a new swingarm. Next thing................who would know it but a deposit has been put on new Metmachex. Only bummer is having to wait for six to eight months.
I have the Metmachex swing arm on my Suzuki. It's a complete work of art. The local independent bike shop suggested that I just put it on display on the coffee table!
Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Ahhh, Fox shocks, I did recognise them but couldn't quite put my finger on it, My memory of vintage parts is getting foggier as I get older....!
