Been popping in every now and again looking up stuff but have finally registered. My first bike after passing my test was Z250, then went to an LC, then a Zeph 550, then 1100, then a Blackbird. Sold that when I moved to France. Few years ago bought a very sorry Z1000ST, leaked from places I didn't knew existed and other bits seized that I thought were unseizable but hey. It's still an ugly beast but mechanically sound. Also got an 1100 Uni, in bits completely, bought with a seized engine, very seized. Also got another Zeph11 after regretting selling my first one. Also got a Z650 F1, fancied a moped! All bikes bought have needed work, the Zeph the least, that was just cosmetics and the CARBS. Plan to continue with the Gpz11 then move onto the 650.

With a very seized engine

 
Stripped the wheels, forks, swingarm, engine casings, matt blacked the rusty downpipes and spent too much money on the carbs
 

Next up 'Batfink'

 
Now had it's clothes removed, It has got normal bars now as well

 
This will be attacked when the GPz is done.
There you go, not the prettiest bunch, but I like them.

Welcome aboard. That is an interesting collection. Is that a piece of a bearing under the cam chain of the GpZ?

Clearly you have a bad case of ihatemoneyitis. Sadly, there is no cure, but at least you are among friends here. 

 

Cheers, yep a camshaft bearing. The muppet who rebuilt the engine for the previous owner with an 1170 Wiseco kit lost the camchain tensioner pin. I found it in the sump during the strip. It was replaced with a bit of 4mm allthread and not set correctly. This caused the camchain to be overtensioned, ate an exhaust bearing which leapt down the centre of the engine and made love with the crank.

What did you do to "batfink"? (lol) She was built to run in the rain. 
Oh, maybe you getting the plastics painted. Ok, I probably spoke too soon.

Some people should have their tool boxes welded shut.

And make sure their tools are inside before welding!
