Hi I’m a new member here. Have owned a 79 kz650D2 for about 12 years and put very few miles on it due to living on the road as a boilermaker. Now I have got a job at the local steel mill and don’t have to travel so I have time for my passion of motorcycles. I grew up racing motocross traveling the country and racing the fastest of the fast so I have some skills on a motorcycle. I have some tools, south bend lathe, enco 49” vertical milling machine with rotary table and some tooling dro and power everything, ac/dc mig, tig, stick welder, flow bench, boring bar, rod hone, ect ect….
I’ve been building xr75 race bikes for a bit now and turning 75’s into 173cc and up fire breathing monsters (for what they are lol) I have made my own stroker cranks and cylinder spacers and custom Length cam chains, cut and welded rods to achieve rod angle and desired compression numbers. I’ve got an addiction to making horsepower. I like to take stock stuff that the oem’s put a lot of r&d into and modify it to make big power. I’ve got this kz650d2 and I’m wanting to make it into a fire breathing monster that will take people by surprise when I crack the carbs and let her eat so I’ve got some ideas and questions for the kz gurus with years of experience if you all wouldn’t mind me joining your group.

Oh and I have a dyno also. It’s not a fancy computerized inertia dyno it’s a hydraulic brake dyno rated to 100 hp.

Not a big tech/computer guy even though I’m younger but I’ll post some pics of what I’ve got going on when I can figure it out. Maybe I just did lol. Going for a street fighter. Trying to get my hands on 03-04 636 rear end parts to do the rear also.
