Long-time (but inactive) member Roy-b-Boy-b, aka Roy Smithson, passed away suddenly a 05:00 on Saturday, March 29 at his home in Sedalia, KY. His wife Kathy called us this morning with the sad news.
Roy goes back to the earliest days of our online Z1 communities, starting when it was hosted by the now-defunct MSM Microsoft Communities, circa late 1990's ~ early 2000's. His thing was hot motors in Z-frankenbikes, buying & selling parts, bikes & motor vehicles with mutual friends in Australia and, the yearly parts party at Mid-Ohio.
Roy & ourselves shared a set of Mid-Ohio swap spaces with Jeff Saunders of Z1 Enterprises when Jeff still owned it. That was 15 yrs. ago if not more. In later years after Jeff sold Z1E, it just Roy, Z1BEBE & myself sharing two adjacent swap spaces. Fun times!
We and Roy talked at some length yesterday about upcoming Mid-Ohio arrangements, life in general, his ongoing heart issues and, random friend stuff. He sounded fine & in great spirits. His sudden passing is an unexpected shock.
Roy was a good friend and a good man.
Roy is survived by his wife Kathy, son Jamie, and others with whom we're not familiar enough to name.
RIP, Roy. Thanks for being in our lives. You'll be missed.

P.S. - Wookie; Jeff Saunders and Roy knew each other years before we met either of them. Jeff has not been active on KZR for some time. The last email address we have for Jeff Saunders is an old one on the z1enterprises.com domain. Could you please share with us an email address for Jeff Saunders that may still be live?
