The Queen

I was looking thru the site today and didnot see anything  said about the passing of  Queen  Elizabeth 
To all  I just want to pass on my condolences .  I have always admired her in many ways.

It is the end of an era for sure. She was a major player in world events for seventy years, and she did it with dignity and grace. CharlesIII has big shoes to fill.

I don't think it has actually sunk in yet, when you think for anyone under the age of 70 they have never known anything different. I don't think there will ever be anyone that will reign over four generations. A complete legend and incredible lady

When I think of her passing I think about her sense of duty to her subjects.  She spent her entire life serving others.  Over 70 years she must have attended thousands of chicken dinners.  She visited Canada 22 times.

And, of course, the subjugation of colonized countries on multiple continents. I doubt the new "king" will make any efforts to right the immense wrongs, but as this was not "the queen" to me, he will not be "the king".

You forgot to mention  gays and other  types in England were  thrown in jail  for there way of life  at least thru WW2

For many it would be disingenuous to offer condolences given the history.   
In the USA we have the "Noble Savage". Europe has the Savage Noble. 

Would that be the noble savages you tried your best to exterminate when grabbing their land?

The current generation is not responsible for what was done by their ancestors. 

Have we really devolved to this. A human live has ended, regardless of your views, can’t you find it your heart to be sympathetic to the family that has lost a mother, a grandmother, a friend. Condolences are given to the survivors. Some here feel it necessary to spit on the grave of a lost life, instead of showing compassion. This can’t continue, Society will fracture.

I appreciate it would be hipocrital to offer disingenuous condolences and respect that, however would it not, out of respect and common decency be better to say nothing

Unfortunately some seem to have lost the morals they were raised on.

 I have some latitude here that I don't impose on threads begun by other members.
The facts are this.   I started this thread and will decide what is appropriate to remain here in print  as has been allowed in the past to other members 
If you don't like it . Tuff s    t.. Start your own thread  where you can slam slavery by our fore fathers that have been dead for 200 years
Condemn people and their beliefs if they don't measure up to your holy high standards. 
Choose times where respect of others during a time of loss can be chatted about and not be considered rude. 
Apparently some here must live in utopia  .
Regarding the posts quoting the Guardian  and other sources.  They are currently running  vidios on UTube with NO negitive comments regarding the Royals
Maybe during a time like now they understand national loss  and  have decided to take  high road.
I hope I made my self crystal clear .   If you don't like it  start your own opposing thread , but be carefull ( No flame wars, or politics )
