Anyone have any suggestions on a good set of saddlebags that work on an 81 KZ750.. Soft side is fine (or a good looking hard set would be ok, I suppose), and something removeable when not needed would be great.
Primarily need them for riding it to work to carry small stuff (say, lunch.... and maybe a book or two).

Thanks

Another way to go is a luggage rack. You can find aftermarket racks that were made in the '80s for KZs on ebay. They usually mount at the top of the rear shock, and at the spot where the rear grab rail mounts.

Good idea, I'll check on that, thanks!

Chase Harper makes the "Stealth" saddle bags. They work very well and take seconds to throw on/off the bike.

I used to use a backpack. Lost too many things tying down to luggage rack and don't care for looks of most other solutions.

yupper, lockable trunk is a great way to go, but not as easily removed as, say, a set of throwover saddlebags.

I usually ride with a tank bag strapped to the tank, carries a lot of stuff and is easily removed.
The next tank bag I buy is going to be magnetic.

I hate the way a trunk looks on a bike, am I the only one? I feel the same about a fairing on a bike that wasn't designed with one to begin with, and RADIOS! I hate radios on a bike! Don't get me going on RADIOS!! What is the purpose of a radio on a bike :S ?? Can't those radio guys be happy with the sounds of BIKING???

OK, all calm now....
:silly:

My bike has some throw over saddlebags, cheap things out of "pleather" $70. They're good enough but I should have bought leather. One bag hit the pipe and melted a hole!! Cheap junk! :(

My friend somehow buys used leather saddlebags at the swap meet every month for $10-25, all day long.
