Did the '77 650 Custom have the exact same color as the '78 650 and '78 Z1R? I seem to remember the '78 silver had a bit more of a bluish tinge to it than the '77650 had.

The '77 was truly a Silver where as the '78 was more blue. I would never had refered to my '78 as being Silver. More of a very light sky blue.

Cool rstnick, that is what I had remembered! So does anyone have the color matching code for the 1977 Kz 650 Custom? I tried to come close to it last year with the silver striping on my tank but there wasn't enough metalflake in the Mercedes silver match we sprayed.

Hey indykaw77 I did a little digging and here is what I found on the german 650 Kawasaki website. I think the paint scheme names are comparable in north america. It appears that the '77 Kawasaki 650 Custom is Moon Dust Silver. The '78 650 Custom was a little different, more of a blue tinge and was called Star Dust Silver. I am pretty sure that this is similar to the color of the '78Z1R.
