Oct 25: Where To Buy Tank Stripe Decals for '83 KZ750 L3?

RD Decals web site says they shut down for vacation in the summer, but summer is over and it doesn't seem like they are back in business.

I'd like to buy a set of '83 KZ750 tank stripe decals. Is there another supplier?

at diablo. search for kz700. 

It looks like I am waiting for the Canadian summer to end. Diablo only makes decals for the KZ700.

I have seen some info that the 83 750 L was offered in 3 color versions, Candy Cobalt Blue, Candy Persimmon Red, Ebony. Have seen some tank and tail strips where the orange is on top and some where the orange is on the bottom. Some have matching strips on the tail and some have the number 750 on them.  Which set are you seeking?

This is my bike in 1989 or 1990. I want these stripes.



 

Thanks for the response ( I have always liked that color scheme). It does sort of look like you will have to wait till summer is over.

I will look else where for  that which you are looking for, but to this point as you have said RD has made them in the past and I hope they will once open again.;

I live in the city where Diablo (Reproduction Decals) is located, its about a 20 minute drive from my house. I have been there many times over the past 15 years.

Its a Mom and Pop shop, there are two other guys there in the back, and I think they may be relatives of the owner (Andre) I have only ever seen 4 people working there, his wife answers the phone. Andre does all the decal layouts full size on a drafting board measuring directly off of tanks, side covers, and tail pieces.

If you can provide Diablo a proper sample, they will reproduce the decals, and add them to their catalog.  

Diablo Cycle does not make a set of decals for the KZ750L3. They make decals for the 1984 KZ700A which are VERY different.
