Exactly HOW different are KZ750 seats?

I found one on ebay for an E, a model which I've never seen before. It looks just like the CSR seat, but what do I know? I don't have frame specs for them all to see if any others will work, nor do I have the factory CD to tell me what the part numbers are, so I'd be totally guessing. Considering the seller wants close to a hundred shipped, that's an expensive guess to be wrong! I also found a guy in MN parting out a CSR, but he wants TWO hundred for his newly-recovered seat!
So, just how different were the KZ750 frames? Can I use the "E" seat, is there such a thing, could I use a seat from a more-popular B or H instead?
TIA!

That said, I guess it'll be a crapshoot as to whether any other will ACTUALLY fit- it'll just be a matter of getting something else and trying it, then trying to resell it if it doesn't work. I'm kinda surprised I'm the only one encountering this, it seems, or else someone might have put together a seat cross-reference by now. Maybe it's my calling, I don't know!
I'm going to see if I can wrangle some funds to try to get that E seat, and go from there.

I think the earlier B & G models are different & probably any 750-4 seat as well (E/F/H/L/N/R).
Unless someone chimes in, it's kind of a crap shoot --- but if you're going to roll the dice, I think you might have better luck trying an 80s KZ1000 (probably 81-on) or maybe an 1100.
Edit: Partzilla has a cross reference but it isn't always correct.

I removed the stock seat from my '80 kz750g and am not going to be reusing it with the mods I'm doing, seat pan is a tad rusty but the cover is in good shape, would you be interested in it?n9viw wrote: Yeah, I got that much, which is how I got the P/N. I can't recover my seat, because my CSR did not come with one. That is, it DID come with a seat, but it's originally from a CMX450 Honda, which probably looks fine on the Honda, but is the most garish thing when placed atop a KZ! I've been perched on plywood since, because that princess-pillow was just too much.
Gonna keep looking and praying, thanks for the help.

And Gomer, while the pan may be different, I think it might be worth my while to try to fab up a different mount, because as I said, the CSR seats are dang near impossible to find. I was even trying to find a way to fit the Corbin seat from my '73 CB350 to the CSR! Desperate times, etc.
