Kawiman's Boss paint progres

Kawi's paint arrived today amazing how a little research and patience pay off

I try to paint within peoples budget without scrimping on quality materials
found a guy that was able to deliver on his promise quality PPG basecoat and
stripe paint without breaking the bank or sacrificing quality of paint


going out to do some sanding and hopefully see some color by tomorrow

it amazes me how much paint cost nowadays :sick: .

cost of paint and supplies are a killer....... :evil:

:dry: worse if you go the flake base or pearl base and candy route....... :dry: hurts my wallet every time....... :laugh: :laugh:

Depends on how much you paint, I guess.

You can do a whole KZ for $60, all aerosol with aerosol 2k clear.

I had some single stage urethane made up, custom tinted for like $125 for everything and just shy of a pint of paint.

They have 3 mixing stations at the truck shop and 4 other full service body shops and when
I tried to get them to match my guys price he (my ex'x wifes husband, we are pretty close not normal ex rivalry)

he wasnt able to match the price for the quantitiy. I did get the ok to get any miss matches or left overs but yeah one of the jobs I did (on here) the quart was 165.00 unthinned
and the reducer was almost 100 for a gallon it has gotten rediculous on paint pricing

I painted my bike with a much less expensive lower line paint that I am impressed with the
quality how well it has lasted (with minimal care) but the difference with the higher line paint
you dont have to paint and wait 18 hours to touch it lol

pretty productive day did some finish sandinf put a cpouple coats of the boss blue on
so I put a couple tea spoons of pearl in it think it might of helped really cant
tell in the photos r4eshot the blue and then set the stripes up heres a few pic's
of todays progress

laid the stripes out and started taping up


had to fun it up a little poutting a special logo
where Kawimans name is and no its not Boss 302 lol

Thanks I love painting bikes wish I could afford to do it full time but this is Kawiman's design
I'm just following orders

I really like it. It's like mustang boss 302 style.
